HEMP
One of our primary materials, hemp, stands out for its remarkable
properties is a star in sustainable agriculture. It requires much less water than conventional crops like cotton and can thrive without pesticides or herbicides. Its rapid growth cycle, often maturing in just 100 days, allows for multiple harvests per year, maximising land use efficiency.Hemp cultivation actively contributes to soil health because it removes toxins and heavy metals from the soil.
Additionally, hemp plants absorb more CO2 than most crops, helping to combat climate change by sequestering carbon.
The fibers of the hemp plant arerenowned for their strength and durability. Hemp fabric is naturally resistant to mold, mildew, and ultraviolet light, ensuring longevity and protection for your garments. It softens with each wash without losing its shape, making it a perfect blend of comfort and resilience. (Eco-Friendly Processing) The processing of hemp fibers is environmentally friendly, using fewer chemicals and less water compared to traditional textile manufacturing.
This results in a reduced environmental footprint while maintaining high-quality standards for our luxury garments. Hemp fabric has a unique texture that provides a luxurious feel while remaining breathable and thermoregulating. It keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter, making it an ideal material for year-round wear. Its natural anti-bacterial properties also keep the fabric fresher for longer.
Hemp’s natural luster and ability to accept dyes well mean that our designs not only feel good but look stunning. The fabric’s elegant drape and sophisticated finish align perfectly with Palmar’s commitment to luxury fashion.
WASHING
Ventilate you hemp garments after every use. Hemp products tend to shrink about 5% when washed – steam or iron them to make them regain their original shape as much as possible. Hemp fabrics are durable and can be washed in high temperatures. Always follow the instructions on the garments’ care label.
STORING
Store your hemp garments folded laying flat. Don’t store the garment on a hanger, as it tends to stretch or get the shape of the hanger.
